Background Experience:

  • Photography

    • I started my photography career in my sophomore year of high school when I joined my school's newspaper! After finding my love for sports photography with the newspaper, I started attending every game with my camera and shooting as much as I could. From there, I began to branch out into portrait photography and started to take some senior pictures. I have since then only grown my confidence as a photographer!

    • Once graduating high school, I continued to further my photography career at Northeastern Junior College as their Athletic Department Photographer. I attended all of the home games for the college and was able to produce pictures to be shared with all of the athletes. Along with attending all of the games, I also ran all of the Media Day shoots and create the athlete-sponsored content.

    • During my time at NJC I started working with my childhood best friend to launch the social media side of her boutique. I started to help plan and execute content shoots to really boost their social media platforms. I also launched my Website and began to take more clients as a full-time photographer!

    • After graduating from NJC, I then transferred to Chadron State College. Here I was able to pick up my photography with the athletic department much like at my junior college and was able to assist in many of the Fall Sports media days and attend all of the home games and events as well to shoot.

    • Other than the work that I have done with the athletic departments, I have also been blessed to take many different senior pictures and family shoots as well! Feel free to take a look at those here!

    • Content Creation

      • I have worked in a variety of different content creation positions in the classroom as well as in the work world! Throughout my different courses at CSC I have been able to work for the Wellness Department on campus and for Chadron's own Western Community Health Resources. For these positions, I have been able to create social media posts, videos, campaign plans, and many more to help them launch a social media presence.

      • After I graduated I was able to work for Northeastern Junior College's Athletic Department to help fulfill the media needs for social media posts, content creation, and website design. I helped make templates for pre and post-game graphics as well as schedules and other social media-directed content!

After I Graduate:

  • After graduating with my Bachelor's degree, my goal is to become a professional photographer and operate my own or partnered business. I would like to specialize in Senior Pictures, but also continue to work in the athletic world and take pictures for surrounding high schools and athletes. In my dream scenario, I would become a content creator for a professional sports team, but I wouldn't want to give up my passion for portrait photography. Depending on how my college career pans out, I can also see myself being a social media coordinator for the boutique that I work for now, or a group of small businesses in my area!

Website Design

Edited on knowledge from CA 350- Applied Public Relations

My website was revised based on the knowledge that we had gathered on what makes website designs work well for the intended audience. Some adjustments that I made were having larger focal points and less text. As a photographer, I know that my website viewers come to my site to see their pictures, not so much to read text. Knowing this, I decided to shift away from having main descriptions as the focal point of each page, and decided to have the pictures speak for themself! I also know that the design element of my website is very important because of my career in the arts. Therefore, I took creative control to make my website aesthetically pleasing and attractive to look at!
